We read research, essays, and projects by authors of any age. We publish work in the humanities, social sciences, and STEM. There is no fee to submit.

What we publish

What fits here.

We accept papers, essays, science fair studies, lab reports, and design projects. Work in history, literature, economics, biology, physics, mathematics, computing, engineering, and related fields may fit.

Classwork, independent projects, mentored research, and graded work are eligible. The work must be yours.

Anyone can submit. Authors under 18 need approval from a parent or guardian. We review specialized STEM work only when a suitable subject reviewer is available.

A research note is a short paper, 1,500 to 3,000 words, that answers one question using data anyone can download. Census and household survey microdata, government statistics portals, published replication files. You need a laptop and a question, not a lab.

Open Margin is one option. If the same work is under consideration elsewhere, tell us before you submit.
